When it comes to personal finance or any other topic that I enjoy, I always try to fill my mind by reading books on that particular subject. There is so much to learn that I do not know, including topics on personal finance, and one of the best ways to learn is by reading. This keeps me up to date on new trends in the industry and get new ideas on what others are doing, in addition to reading a point of view that I might think differently about.
Personally, some of my favorite subjects to read about include books on personal finance, biographies, Christianity, and sports. I read a little fiction here and there, and most recently I have been reading some parenting books getting ready for the birth of our first child around the Fourth of July. As of April I have completed eleven books and am on my way to reaching my goal of 25 books for 2011.
With that being said, as part of our free financial resources page I have compiled a list of my recommended readings *. Currently it is a list of about 30 or so books dealing with personal finance as well as career and business books. Some best-selling authors are included on the list, including Dave Ramsey, Jim Collins, and Dan Miller as well as multiple books from authors such as Dr. Thomas Stanley, Seth Godin, and John Miller and some up and coming young authors including Chris Guillebeau, Zac Bissonnette, and Justin Lukasavige. Please check the list periodically as new books are added all the time. If you have any suggestions that are not on the list, please let me know as I am always looking for recommendations.
So what about you? What books are you reading and what have you learned from them? Please leave your comments below.
