Debt Free Living Podcast-022 Tony Elam

Listen to Episode 022

Tony Elam from join us on today’s show to share how his family paid off over $30K in consumer debt. Tony declared bankruptcy once in his early 20’s and almost did it again a few years later. Instead he decided to look at where he was financially and made some changes. This enabled him to chip away at his debt and become debt free. Because of this experience Tony wrote the book How to Beat the Financial Monster at the End of this Book (Knock Out Past Due Bills and Credit Card Problems). *

When he was single, one of the biggest changes Tony had to make to start paying down his debt was to start eating at home. Once he and his wife paid off their debt, there was this real feeling of relief. They now have been able to buy a house as well as enjoy life and not struggle with money.

Tony never planned on becoming an author, but it just happened.  His advice to anyone wanting to write a book is to just start. It won’t be perfect, but you have to start somewhere.

“It’s not the problems you have; it’s how you react to them that will decide how well you do.” ~ Tony Elam
