Q: How does the process work?

A: After the initial consultation session, I will email a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet that must be filled out at least 48 hours prior to the initial face to face meeting.  This will give me a better idea of your financial situation (income, equity, budget, and debt) before we meet.  We will then use that information to form short and long term goals and discuss different options to achieve those goals.  We will then schedule a follow up 3-6 weeks after the initial meeting.  My goal is to give you the information that allows you to decide the changes that you will make.

Q: What if I can not afford Financial Coaching?

A: Financial Coaching is an investment in your future.  During the three month process you will be given tools to create a budget, get out of debt, and create wealth that will change your financial picture.  You will start to see a return on your investment in no time.

For those in a crisis situation you need to compare the coaching fee to the cost of bankruptcy which can range anywhere between $500-$2000 in legal fees alone or the cost of credit counseling which runs from $30-$50 a month and for four years would cost $1,500-$2,000.  Compared to those fees ours are a bargain!  Also, many couples have found reduced stress on their marriage as a result of addressing their financial situation.

Q: What if I do not live in the Central Ohio area? Do you do coaching over the phone?

A: No we do not do coaching over the phone. However we will do financial coaching over Skype. Skype allows us to communicate via the Internet through both voice and video and allows me to share my computer screen with you while going over your financial information. In addition I have the ability to record the calls into MP3 format which I send to you after the session. That way if you have any questions later, you can go listen to our conversation.

Q: Why don’t you accept credit cards?

A: Because part of the coaching process is enabling you to get out of debt, not go into debt.  By allowing credit cards I would be adding to your burden of debt and be a hypocrite.

Q: What if I am not satisfied with your service?

A: JW’s Financial Coaching offers a full 100% money back guarantee for any reason within 30 days of the initial face to face interview.

Q: May I come without my spouse?

A: No, our policy requires that both spouses attend the coaching session.  This is a team effort and our experience has shown that coaching only one spouse is ultimately not effective.  This is for your benefit as we are unwilling to waste either your time or money.  If your spouse is not willing to come we recommend sitting down with them in a non-distracting environment and communicate how much you want them to participate in your finances.

Q: You state that you have gone through Dave Ramsey’s Financial Counselor training.  Does this mean you work for Dave?

A: No, I am an independent financial coach that attended and completed Dave Ramsey’s Financial training.  However, completion of this training does not make me an employee or agent of Dave Ramsey, nor give me the right to speak for or bind him, nor constitute an endorsement by him.  I do use the philosophies that Dave teaches as well as financial principles used in the Bible.
