Charles “Tremendous” Jones used to say “You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for two things, the people you meet and the books you read.” With that being said I have put together a list of recommend readings on financial, business, and career books that I have personally read and learned from. There is a large variety of authors and styles in the list and I am always looking for new material to read so if you have any recommendation please leave a note in the comment section.

Great list Jon! I’ve read a few of them myself and have learned a lot.
I’d like to make a suggestion for you and your audience;
A fantastic book that every Christian should read is “Money, Possessions & Eternity” by Randy Alcorn. This book is 400 pages, small print and FULL of deep, rich truths from God’s Word. For anyone who is serious about honoring the Lord with their income and assets, this book is a must-read.
For those who prefer, it’s also available as an audio book;

Enjoy!
(I’ve just found your site and subscribed to your podcast through iTunes. Looking forward to listening to your archived episodes while I drive around for work over the next week!)
Thanks for checking us out Glen! Also thank you for the recommendation, Randy’s book has been on my continually growing “to read list” for a while now, but a personal recommendation from you has bumped it to the top of the list! 🙂
Thanks for becoming a new listener to the podcast, feel free to listen to old archived episodes and let me know what you think. Just a warning that the 2010 episodes are really in poor quality, but they get better in 2011, trust me. I’ll check out your podcast soon and let you know what I think!
Jon, oh what a great list of must reads.
I have read the ‘Rich Dad – Poor Dad’ series, well most of them. They are great at getting one to think outside the “box”
Thanks for the comment Mark. I read the first Rich Dad — Poor Dad book a few years ago. I really liked the part when he talked about who we get our views on finance from our parents and so the Rich kids are learning from the rich parents and the poor kids from the poor parents. I’ll have to check out the other books in the series here. After I get through the other 25 books on my list first. 🙂
